Ever since I was little I've been fascinated with anything and everything to do with the internet. I remember getting a "How to Build Websites: For Dummies" in the early 2000's. Ever since then, I've always wanted to build websites. Now that I'm older, I taught myself how to build anything I or anybody else could want.
This is a website I built for a client for his startup home renovation business located in the Houston, TX area. The client wanted a simple "landing page" type website where he could post pictures of various jobs in varying levels of completion, and a contact form so customers would be able to get quotes for their home renovation projects.
I wanted to create my own start page / new tab page for when I'm on a desktop browser. It has quick links to some of my most visited websites, along with a local weather forecast powered by the OpenWeather API. I also wanted a quick search bar that redirected me to a google search of whatever was typed in the bar.
I have always loved space and rockets. I wanted to create and app where I could quickly find out when the next Space X launch would be.
This is a rebuild of my current portfolio using Gatsby, React, and Contentful as a data source! I wanted to add a blog to my website and thought that Contentful would be the best idea for what I wanted!
